Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL – Today the Labrador North Chamber of Commerce (LNCC) is excited to announce the rebranding of the longstanding Expo Labrador Conference & Trade Show.

“The past year was a transition period for the LNCC, and the continued path to success for the Chamber and Expo Labrador requires innovation and realignment to the needs of the Labrador business community,” says LNCC Chairperson Andy Turnbull. “We are committed to offering the same level of pan-Labrador, high-quality content and updates that feature major regional projects, with a deeper focus on content and solutions for small businesses and Chamber members.”

At its core, Expo Labrador remains an initiative that promotes economic opportunities in Labrador through the exchange of information and strengthening of partnerships. Formally known as the Voisey’s Bay & Beyond Conference, Expo Labrador was primarily a resource development-based event that highlighted major projects like Voisey’s Bay and the Muskrat Falls hydroelectric development.

“We will retain our proud history while embracing change that our event participants and Chamber membership have been encouraging,” says LNCC Board member and Expo Labrador Chairperson Ernie McLean. “While the new brand plays homage to the event’s successful past, it will also deliver participants with opportunities to explore the region and experience true Labrador talent.”

The rebrand includes a new logo that celebrates the natural beauty of the region, as well as changes to the overall event format. In keeping with its other initiatives, Expo Labrador will feature an Artist Exhibition to allow artists and crafters throughout Labrador to showcase and sell their products. The event will also include a cultural tour to further highlight the rich history and culture of the region.

“We commend the work of past LNCC staff and Board members who have positioned Expo Labrador as the region’s premiere conference and trade show,” says LNCC Chief Executive Officer Julianne Griffin. “In 2020, we look forward to offering the same level of high-quality service and content to participants, while celebrating a new vision for Expo Labrador.”
