The Labrador North Chamber of Commerce (LNCC) is located in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador and serves the business community of the Lake Melville region. The LNCC was
incorporated in 1986, and continues to advocate on behalf of its approximately 140 members.
Mission
Statement
"Promote and improve trade and commerce, and the
economic, civil and social welfare of the district."
Mandate
The LNCC is a non-profit organization
made up of businesses, professionals and community groups. It acts
as a unified voice for business, enabling its membership to accomplish
collectively what one person cannot easily do individually.
It is also a vehicle for action through which
businesses can work together for the overall good of the communities we
serve, which include Happy Valley-Goose Bay, North West River, Mud Lake and Sheshatshiu. The Chamber is involved at all levels of government and membership support
means that the Chamber can lobby municipal, provincial and federal
government with respect to issues of concern to the business commuity. Through our activities we attempt to broaden the regional tax base, thus
increasing employment. We seek innovative solutions to today's socio-economic
issues and then work towards the implementation of these solutions.
Each year an Executive and Board of Directors is
elected by the membership to establish the goals and objectives for the
year. This Board works with the members and Chamber staff to ensure
the goals set forth are met. |
